Russia, the world’s largest nation, borders European and Asian countries as well as the Pacific and Arctic oceans. Russia, is the largest country in the world by surface area, covering more than one-eighth of the earth’s inhabited land area. Its coastline is over 37.000 km, bordering the Arctic, the Pacific, the Baltic, Azov and Caspian waters. Our International Marketing team recently visited West Russia to explore new business opportunities in the Maritime, Fishing and Aquaculture sectors.

Russia is a relatively young maritime nation as its naval and merchant fleets started to develop only in the 18th century. In the first decade of the 21st century, Russian shipbuilding expanded; thanks to government investments. Novorryoisk, Rostov and St. Petersburg are the three Ports in West Russia. There are tremendous growth prospects in this segment and we see huge scope for promoting our Mooring Ropes in this country.

We met many customers to explore new business avenues in Trawl Fishing. Fish farming in Russia is also growing and has good potential. The country’s fishing sector holds great potential for development, trade, and investments with opportunities for foreign partners, suppliers, and investors.
