EXPLORING FISHING AND AQUACULTURE BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES IN SOUTH KOREA

South Korea is located in East Asia, on the southern half of the Korean Peninsula. The only country with a land border to South Korea is North Korea. South Korea is mostly surrounded by water and has 2,413 kilometres of coastline along three seas. To the west is the Yellow Sea (known in Korea as West Sea), to the south is the East China Sea, and to the east is the Sea of Japan (known in Korea as East Sea).

The country being surrounded by water bodies on three sides gives a great impetus to Fishing industry. Thus Tufropes leveraged this opportunity to further expand its overseas business. Mr. Pradeep Karmiyani visited South Korea recently. There were two primary objectives of this visit to South Korea.

Firstly, to meet the existing customers since it was the end of fishing season and our customers would start preparing for the next season. For a global company like Tufropes it becomes very important that it keeps interacting with existing customers to know their future requirements.

As reported by the customers, this year was really good as compared to the year gone by. The catch was around 5,60,000 MT which is almost double as compared to last year.

The second objective was to understand the Trawl net market. Pradeep visited customers to understand the issues that they have been facing so that those can be addressed. As reported by him, the customers are happy and can also visit Tufropes in October
